The children at The Ark have had a brilliant summer, as you can see from our photos. The Summer Scheme had a absolutely super time on their outings and didn’t want the holidays to end.
We had a range of themed days such as Pirates Adventure, Slumber Party and Sports days and there were a wide range of activities planned to make this an action packed two months.
The weather has definitely be on our side and we took full advantage of this by having water fights, paddling pools and lot of cooling fun. The ice lollies were certainly a big hit!
A key part of our ethos is spending lots of time outdoors and we love to educate the children about nature through the medium of play. The pictures show how such activities capture the children’s interest and engage them. Not only are they learning to take care of the environment, but also learning how things grow and what they can enjoy the end result.
Arts, crafts and messy play – the messier, the better. All ages really enjoy being creative and it is always exciting to see what they create, the language they use and how they extend their play. We are great believers in exploring using all of our senses – sight, sound, taste, touch and smell are all important to the developing child and it is clear to the children used all of their senses during our summer of fun!
Our Annual fun day was a huge success as always. There were two bouncy castles, lots of party games, party food and water fights for our older children.
